Help preparing for auditions

David often takes on pupils who are preparing for auditions. Sometimes these are for parts in amateur dramatic or school productions, and sometimes they are for courses of study further afield. His students have performed extensively with the Gloucester Operatic and Dramatic Society and Dursley Operatic and Dramatic Society, as well as with many other groups around the county and further afield. He also prepares students for university and college auditions (especially those auditioning for dance colleges). In the past students have gone on to Oxford Brookes University, Stroud College, Filton College, Stella Mann College, London Contemporary Dance School and Bird College, London. He can also assist those who may be preparing for scholarships and auditions for local and national schools and ensembles. Other students have attended summer courses at various places including the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Others have also taken part at productions at the London Palladium, and at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Haymarket.

GCSE, AS, and A2 Level performances

David has had numerous pupils following courses at these levels who have needed to prepare performances, compositions and recitals for assessment. He can assist with this, and will liaise with school music staff where necessary.

UCAS accreditation

Those with passes at theoretical and practical Grades 6 and above can accrue extra points which can be counted towards their UCAS totals.

Careers and study advice

David can offer advice for those considering music or the performing arts in general as a career, and can also offer advice on courses of higher and further education.
